Drunken love letters?

My ex-boyfriend was always pionate. When I told him we'd have to split due to distance, he sent me a letter telling me that it was going to be okay and he'd always love me. Later that night, I'm pretty sure we was drinking, because he sent me an email saying he couldn't let me go. He said some really, ridiculously "pionate" stuff, that it ended up just sounding completely cheesy. The thing is, his grammar was perfect, and the letter made SENSE. I really, really believe he was drunk when he wrote this, because when he called the other night, he was beating around the bush, and pretended like he didn't know what i was talking about when I asked him about the letters (I hung up on him.) Though he's very educated, I didn't think it was possible for an impaired person to make perfect grammatical sense. I know for sure that it was he who wrote it, and I'm 99% sure he was drunk. What do you think?
